Foteini Agrafioti is the VP Research and Innovation at Architech, where she manages the company's R&D activities and is responsible for the Intellectual Property portfolio. Foteini is a co-founder of Nymi and the inventor of HeartID, the first biometric technology to authenticate users based on their unique cardiac rhythm. She is a TED speaker and has published numerous scientific papers on medical biometrics. Foteini also serves on the editorial review boards of several scientific journals related to biometric systems and digital signal processing. She holds a Bachelor's degree from the Technical University of Crete, Greece, and the MASc and PhD degrees from the University of Toronto. She was named "Inventor of the year" in 2012 at the University of Toronto.
