Marissa is a graduate of the Engineering Science program with a major in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Toronto. She brings a diverse background; from interning both Sales and Marketing at Procter and Gamble which she earned through a city-wide marketing case competition to analytical talent in biomedical research where she has published papers in leading materials journal, Langmuir. Coming from traveling where she gained internship experience from Europe to India, she brought her entrepreneurial passion to the role of co-founder of a travel concierge OpenInvite. In her spare time, Marissa writes short fiction for which is is the recipient of the National Dorothy Shoemaker Literary Award. Marissa is excited about the intersection of biomechanics and technology and its potential to disrupt the wearable tech industry.
