Craig Campbell

President & CEO, Total Security Management Services Inc.

In 1994 at 17 years old, Craig began his career in the security industry as a security officer at the Toronto Eaton Center. The choice of career began simply as a means to support his family, but very quickly Craig began to recognize the opportunities in this highly-fragmented, unsophisticated, and poorly managed industry. Increasing crime and the heightened security concerns as a result of Y2K further exposed the opportunities that existed in the security industry.  After a five-year, progressively senior career path, using his life savings of $30,000, Craig successfully founded and launched Total Security Management Services Inc., known today as TSM.   TSM Is the largest privately held security services firm in Canada.

His vision for TSM was to bundle the most sought-after security services and provide major corporations with a “Single Point of Contact” for their security needs, enabling them to save time and ultimately to save money while increasing the quality of service. In order to improve the quality of service in an industry known for its high turnover and poor labor relations, Craig created an “employer of choice” model. Taking the simple lessons he learned as a security officer, combined with the old fashioned values taught by his father, Craig created an environment that put the employee first.

The result: A thriving business that has grown from one city and one employee to nearly 3,000 employees in Canada and the United States -- a company that boasts long term relationships with hundreds of Canada’s largest and most important organizations

Craig was a recipient of the Ernst & Young, Ontario Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2004.  TSM has repeatedly been profiled as one of Canada’s fastest growing companies; Craig received the Community Member Award from the Toronto Police (2008) and most recently received 2010 Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 Award.
