Lee Lau

 

Mr. Lau is currently a Partner and Co-Founder of Alignvest Capital Management, a private investment company based in Toronto and New York.  Previously, Mr. Lau founded ATI Technologies in 1985 and built the company into the largest supplier of graphic chips and add-in boards to the personal computer industry. In addition to overseeing the overall strategic direction of the company, Mr. Lau's primary responsibilities included managing the purchasing and product departments. Mr. Lau helped build ATI into a market leader, with annual sales in excess of $2.2 billion and over 3,000 employees. ATI was sold in July 2006 to Advanced Micro Devices for $5.4 billion. Prior to founding ATI, Mr. Lau held various design engineering positions with Mitel, Motorola and Plessey. He holds a Masters in Engineering and a BASc from the University of Toronto.
